We wish to encourage you to subscribe to a new mailing list LatticeNews

(Many of you subscribed soon after the list was announced at Lattice
2004.)

Thanks to Steve Gottlieb for setting this up, and for volunteering to
administer it.

PURPOSE

The list is designed to allow subscribers to notify the worldwide
lattice community of workshops, in particular the annual Symposium on
Lattice Field Theory.  Other news of general interest is also possible,
but the aim is for low volume.

The LOC for Lattice 2005 intends to mail its first bulletin to
subscribers of LatticeNews, and not (as usual) to a list cobbled
together from previous years' participants and various others.  With
that in mind, we ask you to pass the word to newcomers to the field, or
established researchers who may have missed the last few lattice
conferences.

Thus, to ensure that you receive the announcement for Lattice 2005 in
Dublin, and other similar information, please subscribe.

LatticeNews is NOT a forum for announcing open positions at your
institution.  Steve maintains another list, Latticejobs, for that
purpose already.

SECURITY

Only the administrator (currently Steve Gottlieb) has access to the
e-mail addresses on the list, and only subscribers may send e-mail to
the whole list.

If problems of abuse arise, tighter security arrangements are easy to
introduce.
